To create your DIY SeaDek quote, we simply need a visual of your boat’s layout plus rough measurements of each area you want covered. This quick guide shows you exactly how to take the right photos and gather simple/rough measurements so we can build an accurate, cost-effective quote for your boat.
STEP #1 - Take Overview Photos
Please take each of the follow photos. Send two to show the full over view and then additional images to focus on each of the areas that you’d like to have covered.
Picture 1 📸 - Stand at the bow of your boat and take a picture looking down at the boat, facing toward the stern. Try to capture as much of the boat as possible.
Picture 2 📸 - Stand on the stern of your boat and take a picture looking down at the boat facing toward the bow. Try to capture as much of the boat as possible.
Picture 3+ 📸 - Next, take individual images of each of the separate sections that you’d like covered. These images will correspond to measurements for each section. Examples of sections might include (swimdeck, transom, cockpit, driver floor, walk thrus, door covers, bow, etc…)
STEP #2 - Transfer Images To Your Computer
✅Download/send the images from your phone to your computer.
✅Organize and name the images (ex, 1, 2, 3, 4 or by section swimdeck, floor, etc…)
✅For each of the sections, make a notation of the Width & Height for each section. (ProTip - the Width always refers to port to starboard (left to right) and Height always refers to bow to stern (front to back).
STEP #3 - Send Images & Measurements by Email
✅Send your reply to diyseadek@gmail.com
✅Attach your labeled boat images and write the width and height for each corresponding image into the email.
✅PRO TIP: If you have already received an email from us, reply to that same email so we will have all of your project information attached. If you are sending a new email, please put your first/last name and boat make, model and year in the subject line.
Use these easy-to-follow examples to follow best practices for determining measurements for each section of your boat.
